Hyaluronic Acid: THE primary compound that makes up Synovial Fluid.
(HA)
Synovial fluid is responsible for reducing friction and cushioning within a joint, and for transporting nutrients into a joint and for removing waste/damaged elements from the joint.

HA is the primary building block for synovial fluid and cartilage, HA is found in the marine cartilage and green lipped mussel constituents of Sasha’s Blend.

Chondroitin Glucosaminoglycans are important constituents that the body uses in Dermatin the production of connective tissue (ligaments), to keep joint tissue Keratin hydrated, for the formation of synovial fluid (discussed above), and they are necessary for the body’s formation of cartilage and tendons. Chondroitin also has detoxifying effects.

REDUCING INFLAMMATION AND PAIN

Omega 3,9 Omega fatty acids 3,9, DHA and EPA contribute significant
Fatty Acids anti-inflammatory activity to joints.

Omega 3 fatty acids, in particular, inhibit inflammation by reducing the ability of Omega 6 to react with enzymes to create prostaglandins, which are a hormone-like compound that is known to cause inflammation and pain.

Green Lipped Mussel As well as supplying hyaluronic acid & glucosaminoglycans, Green Lipped Mussel (GLM), helps control pain. GLM directly inhibits the production of prostaglandin, which is a hormone-like substance that increases neural sensitivity to pain, thereby reducing pain significantly.

Green Lipped Mussel is a natural COX inhibitor. COX, or cyclo- oxygenase, is a necessary enzyme for the production of prostaglandins in the body. Prostaglandins increase neural sensitivity to the sensation of pain. By reducing the reactivity of COX, the production of prostaglandins is reduced so the pain sensation the body feels is significantly reduced. This is further aided by the presence of Omega 3 fatty acids which, as discussed above, further inhibit the formation of prostaglandins by inhibiting the ability of omega 6 fatty acids to react with any COX that is present.

Abalone: The abalone component of Sasha’s Blend targets and reduces the body’s own production of Nitric Oxide (NO) which, by itself, can cause the sensation of pain, but which partners with prostaglandin to cause significant increase in the sensation of pain.
